Week 04 - Prayer (continued)
Okay, at least for me, this chapter brought up an idea that is extremely foreign to me. That is the idea that when we pray intercessory prayer we must not pray "if it be your will," rather we must pray with certainty. We must hear God's voice and then pray knowing the outcome. Having said that, this will be our main topic of conversation Tuesday night. Read the summary below to an idea of Foster's view of prayer.

After small group, right before we went to bed, my heart was heavy for my sister. We prayed for her. I have known her situation for the past 2 months.
It's so easy to say "We will pray about it." But then just like that, we forget.
Well 2 months later...again I come to that place of desperation where I can no longer say or do anything that will change my sisters mind... It's the Lord who has to change her heart. So I pray. I pray that God would give her wisdom, that she would feel His presence, and that she will KNOW that she is forgiven.
So here I am at work... my eyes all swollen...hahaha...but when I look at myself I am reminded that God heard me and He is good even if things don't turn out the way I would want them to.
Thanks for sharing that, Jenny. It really is hard not knowing what will happen when your praying for someone. But, you're right, God is the only one who can bring changes to someone's life. Your sister will be in our prayers, too.
